Your Home for 4 Days

There is a specific kind of silence that only exists on a ridgeline at 4:00 AM. It’s not a hollow silence; it’s thick with the anticipation of the day. It’s the sound of the wind moving through the ancient hemlocks of West Virginia and the distant, rhythmic hum of the valley waking up below. When you join us for the Soul of the Valley Reading & Mindfulness Retreat, this is the first thing you’ll notice.

But you won’t be noticing it from a cold tent or a drafty cabin. You’ll be noticing it from the warmth of a plush king-sized bed, cocooned inside an Ultra Luxe Dome at The Glamping Collective in Lookout, WV.

This isn't just a place to sleep; it’s your sanctuary for four days. It’s a space designed to facilitate the very thing we’re all searching for: The Rest.

Waking Up in the Clouds

Imagine opening your eyes as the first light of dawn begins to bleed through the transparent canopy of your dome. You don't have to reach for your phone, in fact, we encourage you to leave it tucked away. Instead, you watch the mist roll across the New River Gorge, a slow-motion dance of white and grey against the deep, emerald green of the ridge.

The Ultra Luxe Dome is a marvel of modern design. With 400 square feet of conditioned interior space, it feels expansive yet intimate. The panoramic windows frame the world like a living gallery, making the West Virginia wilderness feel like a part of your living room. The floors are heated, so when you finally decide to swing your legs out from under the high-thread-count linens, your feet are met with a gentle, grounding warmth.

This is Phase B of our journey, the moment where we transition from the excitement of arrival into the deep, restorative work of the retreat. And it all starts with your home base.

The Morning Ritual: Beans, Birds, and Breath

Every morning at the retreat is anchored by a ritual that is as simple as it is sacred: the first cup of coffee.

In your dome’s kitchenette, you’ll find everything you need for the perfect brew. We’ve curated a selection of small-batch beans from FB Roasters, our newly launched online coffee shop. Whether you prefer the dark, smoky intensity of a French Roast or the bright, fruity notes of a Latin American blend, the choice is yours.

There is something meditative about the process of a pour-over. The sound of the water hitting the grounds, the "bloom" of the coffee as it releases its aroma, and the steam rising into the cool mountain air. You take your mug out to the private 200-square-foot deck. You sit in one of the Adirondack chairs, the forest floor still damp with dew below you, and you just… listen.

The birds here have a lot to say. In the quiet of the morning, you can hear the distinct calls of the wood thrush and the black-capped chickadee. It’s the ultimate soundtrack for your first "Mindfulness Read" of the day.

A Curated Library for the Soul

While the views are the headliner, the interior of your dome is where the intellectual heart of the retreat lives. On your bedside table and tucked into the cozy lounge area, you’ll find a selection of books hand-picked from Far From Beale Street, Felicia’s online bookstore.

We don't just provide "vacation reads." We provide literature that challenges, inspires, and invites reflection. From the philosophical depths of Hemingway to the visionary worlds of Star Trek (curated by the Section 31, TN Chapter, of course), your reading list is designed to pair perfectly with the stillness of the valley.

The Ultra Luxe Dome is a TV-free zone. We’ve removed the digital noise so you can rediscover the tactile joy of turning a page. Whether you’re curled up in the lounge chair or lounging on the deck’s stargazing bed, the dome provides the perfect environment for deep focus. This is the "Reading" part of our Reading & Mindfulness Retreat, and in this space, it feels less like a task and more like a gift.

Tactical Luxury: The Amenities

"Glamping" can mean many things, but at Dale’s Angels, we lean into what we call Tactical Luxury. We want you to feel the ruggedness of the mountains without having to sacrifice a single comfort.

Your dome includes:

  • A Spa-Inspired Bathroom: Featuring a large frameless glass shower and premium Lather® bath products. After a day of hiking the private trails on the property, there is nothing like a hot shower with a view of the ridgeline.
  • A Full Kitchenette: Complete with a countertop oven, dual-burner cook plate, and a mini-fridge. While we provide curated meals like our signature Rainbow Trout welcome dinner, you have the autonomy to craft your own snacks or late-night teas whenever the mood strikes.
  • Climate Control: The domes are fully heated and air-conditioned, ensuring you stay cozy regardless of the Appalachian weather's whims.
  • Private Hot Tub: Each Ultra Luxe unit comes with its own hot tub on the deck. It is the ultimate spot for evening reflection under the stars.

The Blue Hour and Beyond

As the sun sets, the dome transforms. The interior lighting is warm and amber, casting a soft glow against the geometric patterns of the structure. This is the "Blue Hour," when the sky turns a deep, electric indigo and the stars begin to punch through the darkness.

A wide-angle, documentary-style shot of the Ultra Luxe Dome at twilight. The dome is illuminated from within, glowing warmly against the deep blue and purple sky of the West Virginia mountains. A private hot tub on the wooden deck is steaming slightly in the cool evening air.

You might choose to light the fire table on your deck, watching the flames flicker against the backdrop of the darkened valley. Or perhaps you’ll head to the heated infinity pool on the property for a final soak before bed.

The goal of these four days is to provide you with a "home" that requires nothing of you. No chores, no notifications, no demands. Just the mountains, your books, your coffee, and your breath.
