2 years after the Emancipation Proclamation became law, TX slaves, Kentucky, Delaware, Choctaw Nation slaves freed in that order…wait what?? Many members of the Choctaw and Chickasaw tribes sided with and fought for the Confederacy, many bloody skirmishes in Oklahoma, talk about an uneasy alliance…hmm you have to be careful who you “cape” for huh? But they had on choice, they were abandoned by the Union, so joined up with Confederacy. I wonder was their intent to win and kick all non-Native American settlers out of their newly expanded territory?
